Pukekura Park is a nationally significant garden that spans 52 hectares right in the center of New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand. Since it opened in 1876, the park has seen ongoing development. Its elongated shape runs along a natural stream valley, where a number of artificial lakes have been formed by damming the water at different locations. Several streams meander through Pukekura, originating from a clearly defined watershed area just beyond the park"s borders.
