Every year since spring 2000, the Castello di Pralormo hosts the MISTER TULIP exhibition in April, showcasing a stunning display of thousands of tulips and daffodils.
Mister Tulip makes his appearance each spring in Pralorm, bringing forth a vibrant array of tulips. Each edition of this botanical event introduces a fresh planting technique, featuring various species and a new colorful design. This autumn planting, carried out by a team of 10 people over 10 days, reveals rare and lesser-known varieties to the Italian audience, while also sharing the rich history of the tulip.
The event takes place throughout the entire park, designed in the 19th century by court architect Xavier Kurten, who crafted some of the most significant gardens of the Savoy residences. The expansive flowerbeds are shaped with gentle, flowing lines to preserve the historical ambiance, allowing the flowerbeds to weave gracefully among ancient trees, rather than adhering to strict geometric patterns. In the underbrush, clusters of muscari and daffodils thrive; in shaded areas, dark bulbs that shy away from sunlight are planted. Alongside the greenhouse, the warm brick walls encourage early blooming as the first leaves begin to unfurl on the branches.
