Lowveld National Botanical Garden

Lowveld National Botanical Garden is situated in Mbombela (formerly known as Nelspruit), where the Crocodile and Nels Rivers meet. The garden offers stunning views of magnificent waterfalls from various lookout points. It features a diverse array of plants native to Limpopo Province, including the famous baobab trees. Additionally, Lowveld NBG boasts one of the largest collections of South African fig trees and a wide variety of plants that represent the rapidly vanishing forests of west and central Africa. The garden plays a crucial role in the conservation of rare and endangered plant species and was instrumental in establishing the Cycad Gene Bank, which helps ensure the survival of this ancient group of plants.
