Hantam National Botanical Garden is located close to the quaint town of Nieuwoudtville in the Bokkeveld escarpment. Spanning over 6,000 hectares, it features diverse landscapes including Nieuwoudtville shale renosterveld, Nieuwoudtville-Roggeveld dolerite renosterveld, and Hantam succulent Karoo. Visitors can enjoy nine walking trails of varying lengths, allowing them to leisurely explore the beauty of the gardens. The garden is home to approximately 1,350 plant species, with more than 80 being unique to the Bokkeveld plateau. In spring, the garden transforms into a vibrant display of colorful bulbs and annuals.
