Frensham is a charming country garden which has been a labor of love for over thirty years. In the beginning, I had minimal gardening skills and no clear vision for the space, but my passion for plants grew rapidly. Through plenty of experimentation and learning from mistakes, we’ve created a garden that brings joy to both us and our visitors. Careful consideration has gone into the arrangement of colors, the views from various distances, and the way light filters through, thanks to thoughtful pruning.

The garden has been designed to offer beauty throughout the year. There’s nothing quite like a crisp winter day with the sun shining low in the sky. More and more visitors are coming in the autumn, and many are now choosing to visit during summer evenings, avoiding the heat and brightness of midday when both plants and people can feel overwhelmed.
