Antsokay Arboretum is a beautiful botanical garden that boasts a diverse collection of more than 900 plant species native to the southwest of Madagascar. Remarkably, 90% of these plants are unique to the area, and 80% possess medicinal qualities. In addition to the impressive array of succulents, many of which are endangered, visitors have the chance to encounter unique wildlife found nowhere else on the planet. This includes not only chameleons, boas, tenrecs, and various birds, but also fascinating endemics like the mouse lemurs, which are a highlight for night visits at the arboretum.
