In the hydrangea section, which spans about 30,000 square meters, you"ll find a stunning collection of 15,000 hydrangeas representing around 60 different species. Among them is the beautiful "Snowy Mountain of Annabelle," where clusters of pure white Annabelle hydrangeas bloom. The heart of this area is situated along a hiking trail that ascends towards the mountain.
Minamisawa Hydrangea Mountain is a stunning floral haven established by its founder, Tadakazu Minamisawa. Each year, he dedicated himself to planting hydrangeas along the forest paths to "bring color to the route leading to his parents" graves." Over nearly fifty years, he remarkably grew the hydrangea count to 15,000 all by himself. The locals fondly refer to him as "Flowering Grandpa Chuicchan," and his deep passion for flowers has been cherished and passed down, becoming a source of pride for the Akigawa Valley community.
