The Hinoyama Park Turkish Tulip Garden is one of Japan’s most unique spring flower destinations, located at the top of Mount Hinoyama overlooking the Kanmon Straits.
Set within Hinoyama Park, the garden is known for its vibrant tulip displays and panoramic views of both the Seto Inland Sea and the Sea of Japan.
Opened in 2009, the garden was created as a symbol of friendship between Japan and Turkey, featuring tens of thousands of tulips gifted from Istanbul.
Highlights:
🌷 40,000+ Tulips in Bloom – A large-scale display of colorful tulips, typically blooming from early to mid-April each year.
🌍 Symbol of International Friendship – The garden represents the cultural connection between Shimonoseki and Istanbul, with tulips donated as a gesture of goodwill.
🎨 Designed Floral Patterns – Tulips are arranged in flowing lines and curves inspired by landscapes like the Bosphorus, creating a visual, almost artistic composition.
⛰ Elevated Scenic Views – Located on a mountain summit, offering sweeping views of the Kanmon Bridge and surrounding coastline.
📸 Highly Photogenic Setting – A vibrant contrast of colorful flowers against sea and sky makes it a standout photography location.
🌸 Seasonal Flower Layers – Beyond tulips, the park also features cherry blossoms and other spring blooms, creating a multi-layered landscape.
