El Palmar National Park

El Palmar National Park is a protected area located in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. Created in 1965, its main purpose is to protect one of the last extensive populations of the Butiá yatay palm—a species that once covered much of the region but has nearly disappeared elsewhere.

Highlights:

The park is famous for its vast palm savannas, where thousands of tall yatay palms create a unique, tropical-like landscape.

It preserves ecosystems typical of the Espinal ecoregion, a biome characterized by grasslands, low forests, and scattered palm groves.

The area is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset, when the palms cast dramatic silhouettes.
