Körsbärsblommans dag

Every spring, Kungsträdgården (The King’s Garden) transforms into a breathtaking, bright pink canopy in the absolute heart of Stockholm, Sweden. Planted in 1998, two parallel avenues of over 60 Japanese cherry trees (Prunus ‘Accolade’) bloom simultaneously, serving as the city’s definitive symbol that the long Nordic winter has officially ended.

Highlights:

🌸 The Pastel Pink Tunnel: Walk down a magical, interlocking pink promenade where low-hanging branches create a fairytale-like tunnel of dense spring blossoms.

📊 Trees: Over 60 mature Prunus ‘Accolade’ cherry trees gifted to symbolize international friendship.

🌿 The Official Sakura Festival: Experience the annual Cherry Blossom Day, featuring an open-air celebration of Japanese culture with Taiko drumming, kimono fashion shows, and martial arts.
