The Helsinki Winter Garden (Talvipuutarha) is a historic glass-and-steel botanical oasis located at the northern edge of Töölönlahti Bay in Helsinki, Finland. Designed by architect Gustaf Nyström and opened in 1893, this glasshouse serves as a warm, lush public conservatory.
Highlights:
🌵 Three Thematic Glass Rooms: The collection is split into the Palm Room, the Cactus Room, and the Western Wing, housing over 200 exotic tropical and desert species.
💮 Century-Old Camellias: The garden’s prized botanical treasure is a pair of rare camellia trees that have been growing inside the greenhouse for over 130 years.
🌹 Lakeside Rose Garden: The exterior features a beautifully landscaped, terraced rose garden that bursts into full color along the bay from July through September.
