Built upon a former parking lot for the 2004 Olympics, Stavros Niarchos Park is a 21-hectare masterpiece of sustainable landscape architecture. Designed by Renzo Piano and Deborah Nevins, this modern “green roof” slopes upward to form the roof of the SNFCC, celebrating the Mediterranean landscape with over 1,400 trees and 300,000 shrubs native to the Greek soil.
Highlights:
🌿 Mediterranean Labyrinth: Get lost in a sensory journey through rows of lavender, rosemary, thyme, and sage, designed to mimic the natural vegetation of the Attic landscape.
🌊 The Panoramic Canal: Stroll along the 400-meter-long seawater canal that runs parallel to the park, offering a cooling microclimate and a stunning backdrop for the dancing fountain shows.
🌳 The Great Lawn: Relax in the park’s expansive open-air hub, which hosts everything from free yoga sessions and family picnics to world-class music festivals and outdoor cinema.
