Flaxmere Garden, crafted by Penny Zino, is a stunning landscape that showcases beauty in every season. Since its humble beginnings in 1966, it has evolved into a remarkable space inspired by a spring-fed creek, turning dreams into reality.

Over the past two decades, the garden has garnered significant attention and was recently designated as a Garden of National Significance by the New Zealand Trust, which is associated with the Royal New Zealand Institute of Horticulture.

Situated 300 meters above sea level near the Southern Alps, the garden thrives in a region characterized by terraced riverbed terrain, experiencing hot, dry summers, chilly winters, and brisk seasonal northwesterly winds.
