Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden

The Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden primarily showcases the remarkable variety of plants found in South Africa"s arid and semi-arid regions. Situated 120 kilometers from Cape Town in Worcester, at the base of the stunning Hex River mountain range, this garden spans 154 hectares, with 11 hectares featuring formal landscaping. Visitors can explore several hiking trails that meander through the garden"s natural flora. The garden"s impressive aloe collection is particularly striking in winter, especially when the nearby Hex peaks are dusted with snow. In spring, vibrant vygies and annuals burst into bloom, creating a breathtaking display of colors. Additionally, there is a sizable collection of potted succulents available for viewing through pre-arranged guided tours.
