Shubra Beloula is the “Jasmine Capital of the World,” a small Egyptian village responsible for the scents that define global luxury. Nestled in the Nile Delta, this humble town produces the liquid gold that fuels the international high-end perfume industry, from Chanel to Dior.
Highlights:
🌸 Global Fragrance Powerhouse – This tiny village produces over half of the world’s jasmine supply. During the harvest season, the local factories extract jasmine concrete, a precious aromatic paste that serves as the foundation for the world’s most iconic fragrances.
🌍 The Midnight Harvest – Every year from June to December, the village undergoes a massive horticultural operation. Around 30,000 residents participate in a meticulous nocturnal harvest, hand-picking jasmine blossoms between midnight and dawn to preserve the essential oils before the morning sun evaporates their scent.
