The National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the wonderful donation of 3,000 cherry trees from Tokyo"s Mayor Yukio Ozaki to Washington, DC, back in 1912. This event also celebrates the enduring friendship between the United States and Japan. In 2023, the Festival will take place over four weeks, drawing in more than 1.5 million visitors and featuring a variety of programs that highlight both traditional and modern arts, cultural richness, natural beauty, and the vibrant spirit of the community.
